What You Will Do

As a Program Manager 2 in the IFPROG-Data Group, your duties will include working to ensure critical infrastructure, facilities and technologies are able to support the labs mission today as well as sustaining the mission in the future. The Data Group within the Infrastructure Program Office (IFPROG) at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is seeking interest from highly talented, motivated and customer-oriented applicants for a Program Manager 2 Position. This position supports the IFPROG Data Group in the Cooling and Heating Asset Management Program (CHAMP). CHAMP supports initiatives tied to the assessment, design and execution of HVAC projects across the laboratory. Participate in working groups both internal and external to foster collaboration relative to facilities, infrastructure, technologies and procedures that enables the sharing of best practices to solve unique challenges collectively for the DOE.
The selected candidate will work in a highly motivated and cohesive team to bring forth effective results.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Demonstrated experience in developing strategic and tactical planning for execution of the initiatives in both the technical and operational disciplines.
Demonstrated experience evaluating, developing, negotiating, and maintaining partnerships and strategic relationships.
Demonstrated experience applying standard principles and techniques to develop an execution/implementation plan that covers the work from conception to completion.
Demonstrated experience defining work breakdown structures to assign deliverables to projects, or develops other means to accomplish the work.
Demonstrated working level knowledge of program management of technical or operational work, including defining program work scope, schedules, budgets, priorities, and performance milestones; developing cost, scope, and schedule baselines; reporting cost and schedule variance; and managing change control and risk.
Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate on the implementation of asset management policies, procedures, and practices.
Education/Experience: Position requires a bachelor’s degree and eight (8) years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Expertise leading/facilitating problem solving teams.
Knowledge of regulatory and Laboratory requirements related to work of assigned portfolio(s).
Ability to balance resources and requirements across multiple projects comprising a program.
Thorough knowledge of the Laboratory organizational structure.

Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory.
