Los Alamos National Laboratory Post-Baccalaureate Student Admin in Los Alamos, New Mexico

What You Will Do

LANL is looking for an energetic, customer focused team-oriented administrative Post Baccalaureate intern to work with the Information Science and Technology Institute (ISTI) within the National Security Education Center (NSEC) at LANL. While working in a team environment, the successful candidate must also be able to work independently with increasingly minimal supervision and be capable of handling personnel and sensitive matters with tact and discretion.

This position will provide a wide range of administrative support to ISTI for a variety of office-related activities including, but not limited to:

  • Assist with all aspects of preparation of summer schools for undergraduate and graduate students.

  • Assist with organizing, scheduling, advertising, and set-up for meetings, seminars and other events.

  • Learning and working with LANL systems and processes, including Oracle, Foreign Visits and Assignments, guest agreements, budgets and procurements.

  • Assist with tracking and managing a variety of small projects.

While the successful candidate will be comfortable working in a fast paced and changing environment, the position also offers ample opportunities to learn about broader aspects of the lab, as well become familiar with business and administrative career opportunities available throughout Los Alamos National Laboratory.

What You Need

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Completion of a Bachelor’s degree within the past 3 years or soon to be completed, with a cumulative GPA of at least a 3.0.

  • Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and complete multiple projects with strict deadlines and changing priorities.

  • Demonstrated experience working effectively as part of a team.

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.

  • Excellent oral and written skills, including proofreading, grammar, spelling, punctuation, accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of and proficient with computer software applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Adobe, etc.)

  • Demonstrated record of dependability, reliability, attendance and punctuality.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience organizing and/or supporting meetings and events or other activities.

Additional Details

Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2 .
