What You Will do
The Nuclear Material Control and Accountability Group is seeking an energetic, experienced, interactive, customer-focused professional to provide operational and programmatic support to the SAFE-NMCA Performance Assurance’s issues management program, through the tracking of corrective action plans, objective evidence collection and meeting closure deadlines by maintaining thorough, complete, and accurate records.

Minimum Job Requirements:
Demonstrated knowledge and experience participating in audits and self-assessments.
Demonstrated customer service skills including experience interacting successfully with all levels of employees and management, external customers, and other government agencies, etc.
Excellent organizational skills for corrective action plan tracking and the collection of objective evidence.
Demonstrated experience in effectively prioritizing assigned tasks and assuming responsibility for accomplishing the work.
Previous experience performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature with frequent interruptions and/or distractions.
Experience working effectively independently and in a collaborative team environment.
Education/Experience: Position requires an Associate’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or, equivalent combination of education and relevant experience directly related to the occupation. Additional consideration may be given to professionally recognized training and certifications in related fields.
Knowledge of nuclear material policies, practices, and procedures.
Basic skill and experience with Microsoft Excel for report generation, presentation and trending.
Active Q Clearance.

While the posted salary range for this position is broad, it is highly unusual for selected applicants to be hired at the top end of the range and more common for selected candidates to grow into the full salary band over time.
This position will be physically located in Los Alamos, NM.
Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 year.

Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements
for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance which requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon position, additional authorization to access nuclear weapons information may be required that may or may not be available to dual citizens depending upon the circumstances.
Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. SeeDOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
HRP: This position is subject to the requirements of the DOE Human Reliability Program as specified in 10 Code of Federal Regulation, Part 712, §712.11. These requirements include on going drug and alcohol testing, as well as periodic medical and psychological evaluations.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.
