What You Will Do
Los Alamos National Laboratory invites applications for a postdoctoral position in the Chemistry Division.
Nanotechnology and Advanced Spectroscopy Team (NanoTech Team) of the Physical Chemistry and Applied Spectroscopy group is seeking outstanding candidates to join our projects on synthesis of colloidal quantum dots, their spectroscopic characterization, and device applications. The NanoTech Team is home to advanced experimental facilities designated for nanomaterials research. It operates 8 state-of-the-art laboratories specializing in synthetic chemistry, optical spectroscopies, and device physics of colloidal nanomaterials. What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Strong background in one or several areas of the following: Colloidal nanocrystal synthesis, ultrafast spectroscopy, single-dot spectroscopy, clean-room fabrication, nanocrystal-based devices (LEDs, lasers, single-photon sources, LSCs, FETs, PVs, photodetectors, etc.)
Demonstrated ability to work productively on multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
Demonstrated experience in gathering and interpreting technical data.
Strong communication skills.
Education/Experience :PhD within the last 5 years or will have completed all PhD requirements by commencement of appointment.
Experience with atomic layer deposition (ALD), polymer chemistry, cryogenic equipment, ink-jet printing, and microstructural analysis (TEM, XRD, XPS).
Knowledge of spectroscopic instrumentation, laser physics, solid-state physics, nonlinear optics, and device physics.
Experience in interfacing experiment equipment
Strong computer skills
