What You Will Do
As a Learning Specialist, you will develop training programs for one of the largest and most diverse directorates at Los Alamos National Labs, ALDESHQSS. You will work with multiple stakeholder groups, building collaborative relationships, and coordinating with peers to engage needed resources to drive learning solutions that meet customer needs, regulatory drivers and contractual requirements. You will deliver innovation in the design and development of a variety of training materials including classroom-based, OJT, eLearning, and learning aides.

Minimum Job Requirements:
Knowledge and Expertise
Demonstrated experience applying all phases of training instructional design and development using the systematic approach to training (SAT) - analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation (ADDIE). Working experience researching and identifying regulatory training content and requirements to support learning objectives. Ability to design and institute documents such as procedures, forms and templates.
Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects, and prioritizing competing deadlines.
Computer Business Systems
Experience using common software applications, eLearning software, and shared database platforms (e.g. Adobe Products, Articulate SL 3/360, Microsoft Office, Oracle, etc.). Experience working with a learning management system (LMS) organizing employee-training needs, training plans, and tracking .
Demonstrated ability building and maintaining constructive networks across functional and organizational boundaries centered in customer service excellence. Proven ability to examine, assimilate, and communicate training and documentation compliance requirements to both technical and non-technical personnel. Advanced written and oral communication skills.
Education and Experience
Position requires a Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred) in a related field and 4 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation
Working knowledge of Laboratory policies and procedures pertaining to training including LANL P781-1, Conduct of Training, and Department of Energy Order (DOE) O 426.2, Personnel Selection, Training, Qualification, and Certification Requirements for DOE Nuclear Facilities
Program management experience or certification.
Experience developing online training, video production and recording, visual design, and image selection and creation.

for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance which requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon position, additional authorization to access nuclear weapons information may be required that may or may not be available to dual citizens depending upon the circumstances.
Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. SeeDOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.
