Los Alamos National Laboratory Electron Emission Postdoctoral Research Associate in Los Alamos, New Mexico
What You Will Do
The Applied Electrodynamics group of the Accelerator Operations and Technology Division of LANL is seeking a postdoc to work on photocathodes and electron emissive devices, for both accelerator and detector applications. Experience with ultrahigh vacuum, thin film growth, x-ray analysis (XPS, XRF, XRD,XRR), and photoemission are desirable, as is a background in accelerator physics or materials science. Experience with diamond devices and surface preparation is also a plus.
The successful applicant will work on semiconductor photocathode development, including diamond photocathodes, and will assist in the design and construction of novel photodetectors. Must be eligible for a Q clearance.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Experience with UHV
Ability to obtain or maintain a DOE Q clearance
User facility experience, especially synchrotrons
XRD or XRR analysis experience
Experience with Thin film growth
Experience with photoemission measurement
Education: A Ph.D. in Physics, Materials Science or a very closely related discipline, earned within the last five years.
