Los Alamos National Laboratory Designated Procurement Representative (Vendor Liaison Specialist 2) in Los Alamos, New Mexico

What You Will Do

The Procurement team under the Operational Readiness Implementation (ORI-3) Group is seeking an energetic and customer-focused Designated Procurement Representative. The selected candidate will effectively and compliantly work with suppliers, customers and procurement specialists to procure programmatic materials and components in support of operations at TA55, RLUOB, CMR and SM39. This is a vital part of ensuring programmatic milestones and deliverables are met.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Functionality

Demonstrated proven record of using independent judgment and initiative to prepare and review procurement related document (i.e., specifications, quotations and quality documents.)Demonstrated ability to comply with industry practices, policies, and procedures specifically relating to procurement and quality.

Computing/Business Systems

Above average computer skills and demonstrated proficient experience with Inventory Control, Material Tracking systems, and proficient in various software suites, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Access.

Customer Service

Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to provide clear, concise support and guidance to others in sometimes-stressful situations. Experience interacting professionally with all types of personnel, including external interfaces and executive management.

Communication

Demonstrated experience and excellence in interacting and communicating both written and orally with customers in a customer service-related setting. A bility to communicate findings and make recommendations.

Demonstrated ability proactively assisting others in achieving the organization’s objectives.

Organizational Skills

Possess high attention to detail including excellent organizational skills, analytical thinking, observational skills and problem-solving skills all to include high accuracy. Proven ability to multi-task and adjust to the workings of a dynamic and cohesive fast-paced team environment.

Clearance

Ability to obtain a DOE Q Clearance

Education/Experience

Requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience purchasing material in a nuclear facility and/or high-regulated environment.

  • Experience preparing and reviewing technical information.

  • Experience purchasing a consistent high volume of material for multiple customers.

  • Knowledge of ISO and/or NQA-1 and NAP24 quality drivers.

  • Active DOE Q clearance.

Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2 .
