The Weapons Research Services, Weapons Mission Technology (WRS-WMT) group is looking for a computer scientist who will research, analyze, design, develop, implement, and manage advanced content and document management systems, to meet functional requirements supporting the controlled document repository for classified weapons missions at LANL’s Plutonium Processing facility. As a Scientist 2, your duties could include:
The installation, configuration, and management of a variety ofcomputer content and document management systems such asDocumentum
Performing the installation, configuration, and management of xPlore;
Performing the upgrades and patching of the Documentum stack;
Using Documentum Composer and writing custom TBOs;
Recommending changes in development, maintenance and system standards;
Creating comprehensive software documentation.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Advanced knowledge and experience in OpenText Documentum suite of products. Thorough knowledge and experience in the design, development, and implementation of computer content and document management systems.
Demonstrated experience in the software development and sustainment lifecycle to include design, development, modification, testing, debugging, evaluation of software to meet technical and functional requirements, maintenance, and decommissioning of software. Experience contributing to the development of technical standards.
Knowledge of software engineering, research, design, and development methodologies, tools and processes, including software development methodology framework, source code control, application development tools and techniques, database design, development and management, programming languages, and component integration.
Thorough knowledge and experience with hardware and operating systems including system architectures, network infrastructures, and client server principles.
Education/Experience : Positions requires a Bachelor’ degree in a STEM field from an accredited college and university and 4 years of related experience, typically with post-doctoral research experience at a university or national lab or equivalent experience directly related to the occupation.
Actively participates in professional societies, complex interactions, special assignments, and/or external collaborations. Participates in external working groups and/or assists in organizing meetings and colloquia.
Expert knowledge and extensive experience with Documentum Server, Content Transformation Services, xPlore, D2, D2 Config, and DA. Expert knowledge and demonstrated proficiency in the use and administration of Documentum software and search engines.
Technical Problem Solving:
Extensive experience installing, configuring, administering and troubleshooting content management and document management software. Demonstrated advanced technical skills and independent judgement to solve complex technical issues.
Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills with all levels of personnel including management, administrators, scientists and engineers.
Knowledge of Application Program Interface (API) frameworks and REST services. Extensive experience and demonstrated proficiency in hardware and software integration and testing.

Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory.
